CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
DAAP, UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI
SCOPE  2-Semester, self-directed Senior project

ROLE  Each student selects their own subject/problem, project site, and design solution, which is developed over the course of two semesters with periodic critiques from professors, guest critics, and peers. I modeled in SketchUp; created renderings, diagrams, presentations, and a research book using Adobe Suite; and designed, laser-cut, and assembled a scale model of the space. I conducted site surveys and interviews and took several fiber arts workshops myself.
Background  My senior project explored the physical and mental health benefits of practicing fiber arts and imagined a space where anyone from beginner to expert could gather to learn and practice new skills in this field.

Through many iterations, I arrived at the concept of interior space itself as a fabric into which functions could be “stitched.” As the classes and workshops would be ever-evolving, I devised a modular, flexible system of partitions that could be reset according to the needs of each group, a tapestry that is woven again and again.
